I've seen this meme on a couple of other journals. For the most part this was a very good match for me. You can take the test here: http://www.ipersonic.com/test.html

Sensitive Doer (SD)

Sensitive Doers are gentle, modest and reserved persons. They cope well with everyday life and like their privacy. With their quiet, optimistic nature, they are also good, sought-after listeners and other people feel well in their company. All in all, this type is the most likeable and friendliest of all personality types. Tolerance and their regard for others distinguish their personality. They are very caring, generous and always willing to help. They are open to and interested in everything that is new or unknown to them. However, if their inner value system or their sense of justice is hurt, Sensitive Doers can suddenly and surprisingly become forceful and assertive.

Sensitive Doers enjoy the comforts life offers to the full. They are very happy in everyday life. Sensitive Doers are often gifted artists or very good craftsmen. Creativity, imagination and an especially keen perception are just a few of their strong points. Sensitive Doers are very presence-oriented; long-term planning and preparations do not appeal to them. They take life as it comes and react flexibly to daily demands. They do not like too much routine and predictability. Their talents come more to the fore when work processes are variable and there are not so many rules. Sensitive Doers like to work alone; if they are part of a team, they do not get involved in competitive or power games and prefer living and working together harmoniously and openly.

Sensitive Doers are completely satisfied with a small, close circle of friends as their need for social contacts is not very marked. Here, too, they avoid conflicts - quarrels and disputes put considerable strain on them. Sensitive Doers are often very fond of animals and are very good with small children. As partner, this type is loyal and reliable and is willing to invest a lot in a relationship. Mutual respect and tolerance are very important to Sensitive Doers. Their love of pleasure makes them a pleasant companion with whom one can experience intensive moments. They like to look after their partner with attentiveness and small gifts and are very sensitive to the partner’s needs - often more than to their own. However, should they meet the wrong person, they run the risk of being taken advantage of. They are then deeply disappointed.

Adjectives which describe your type:
introverted, practical, emotional, spontaneous, sensitive, peace-loving, reserved, gentle, good-natured, independent, empathetic, friendly, playful, carefree, sympathetic, relaxed, quiet, modest, pleasure-loving, loyal, obliging, caring, helpful, optimistic

These subjects could interest you

The Buzz.....Literally!!

  • May. 10th, 2008 at 12:47 PM
That's crazy!
Our living room window faces the front of our house. About four feet in front of the window we have a low decorative wall. In between the window and the wall is a patch of dirt that we occasionally grow things on.

For the past month, we've had an overturned plastic garbage can sitting in the dirt, hidden from street view by the wall. My lil Shmoo and I returned from Target today, and as I was headed for the front door I noticed a bunch of bees over the dirt area.

There's a teeny hole on the bottom of the overturned garbage can. Apparently the bees got inside and have been busily building a hive. There are literally hundreds of the little critters flying in and out of that hole. We also keep hearing little thunks as they fly into our living room window.

It's amazing how we got so many so fast. Today is the first time we've seen any.

Which Goddess lurks in your soul?

Demeter

You are a true earth warrior! Demeter is the Greek Goddess of the fields, grain and harvest and inhabits those souls who long to be a part of the green. You have a special connection with plants and care deeply for the Earth. You tend to be motherly and protective of those that are in your care and are not above severe aggression when one of your charges is harmed or threatened.

Life is nutty right now. I'll post an update when I have more time to sit and develop my thoughts. I just wanted to say hello to my friends list. I still read you every chance I get. I've been too scattered to try to write anything myself. Hopefully that will change soon. I miss you all.

Anyone have anything really good/bad/weird/wonderful going on?

Hugs to you all!

For Parents with Daughters

My Girls
My eldest daughter graduates from high school next year. It amazes me how time appeared to accelerate after I had children. In such a short time she'll move on and start a life of her own, and I'll miss her so much.

This song is such a poignant reminder of how little time we have with our children. They grow up so quickly, and we need to make the most of our time together.

Things That Make You Go Yummmzzzz

  • Aug. 25th, 2007 at 3:35 PM
CatBowl
As a working mother and part time student, I don't have the time or energy to cook much during the week. This week I discovered a place called Dinner Done. With Dinner Done you schedule a session and select items from their menu that you would like to make. They set up food stations that contain the recipes for the meals and have all the ingredients chopped for you. All you have to do is assemble the food, stick it in your freezer, and slide it in the oven when you're ready to fix it. That's real life saver for someone like me.

I had my first session last night, and the items I brought home were:

Nori Wrapped Salmon
Bourbon Chicken
Shrimp Scampi over CapelliniPasta
Grilled Chicken with Corn Salsa
Classic Crusted Beef with Horseradish Sauce
Basil Chicken
Pork Tenderloin with Carmelized Apples
Ricotta-Spinach Stuffed Chicken

All of it looks so good, especially the Salmon. The sauce for that is made of sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar and five spice powder. mmmmmm...I'm looking forward to feeding my children something other than chicken nuggets. :)

Follwing the lead of [info]chiller and [info]metalwheaties .....

Your Score: Orpheus

33% Extroversion, 80% Intuition, 100% Emotiveness, 76% Perceptiveness

You are an artist, an aesthete, a sensitive, and someone who has never really let go of that childlike innocence. To you, all of life has a sense of wonder in it, and the story of Orpheus was written about someone just like you.

When the Argo passed the island of the Sirens, Orpheus played a song more beautiful than the Sirens to prevent the crew from becoming enticed. When his wife died, he ventured into the underworld to charm Hades but, in his naivete, he looked back becoming trapped there.

You can capture your unique world view and relate it to others with the skill of a master storyteller. Your sensitivity and creativity make you a treasure to the human race, but your thin-skinned nature and innocence can cause you a lot of disenchantment and pain. What's doubly unfortunate is that, if you try to lose those traits, you never will, and everyone will be able to tell that you're putting up an artificial shell to prevent yourself from being hurt.

Famous people like you: Hemingway, Shakespeare, Mr. Rogers, Melville, Nick Tosches

Stay clear of: Icarus, Hermes, Atlas

Random Stuff

I'm using the internet at the library because we had a nasty lightning strike that wiped out our surge protector, computer, phones and cable early Wednesday morning. The cable will be fixed tomorrow, the computer and surge protector replaced on Saturday, and the phone may or may not be replaced. I have a cell phone so we may not keep the landline. I feel limbless without my home computer. MAJOR SUCKAGE to be without.

The only benefit of no computer is that I've been able to read two books:

"Obsession" by Jonathan Kellerman (one of my favorite authors) and
"The Angel Maker" by Jessica Gregson (aka [info]yiskah)
Both books were wonderful. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Next on the "to read" list is "Quiet Strength" by Tony Dungy, the coach of the Indianapolis Colts. He is such an inspiring man, and I've heard nothing but good things about his book. I look forward to digging in.

This week has been quite depressing. Normally, I love rain. I love to walk in it, listen to it, splash in puddles, etc. But it has been gray and rainy EVERY SINGLE DAY and I'm ready for some Florida sunshine. The forecast is for another seven days of this gray mess though. *sighs* Vacation sounds good...vacation in Tahiti sounds even better. I need that winning lottery ticket STAT!

On the bright side, tomorrow is Friday. I'm glad the weekend is here. Spending time with my little one is like having my own, personal ray of sunshine following me around. I can't wait!

*HUGS* to my f'list.
